THE CLIENT
Lauren Magenta is an expert storyteller, video producer, and serial entrepreneur. With a career spanning nearly two decades, she has worked with top brands like Sparkling Ice, HiLine Coffee, Headspace, FAGE Yogurt, Dove Chocolate, Daily Harvest, Clearblue, and Braun. Before launching her own media company, Magenta Media, Lauren learned the ropes at Martha Stewart Living, Refinery29, and Spoon University, specializing in video production and brand storytelling.
In 2023, Lauren launched Own Your Brand, a six-week group mentorship program designed to package her extensive video production experience into doable strategies for women-owned small businesses. Through Own Your Brand, Lauren helps entrepreneurs harness the power of social storytelling to grow their brands, expand their reach, and drive revenue.
THE CHALLENGE
In Fall 2024, Lauren approached Carter House Copy with a clear objective: she needed compelling, strategic copy for her website — specifically for Own Your Brand — that could scale her business.
At the time, she was preparing for a major milestone — being featured by Google Workspace as a top-tier user using the platform to run her business. With just two weeks before this high-visibility moment, Lauren needed a brand and digital presence that matched the caliber (and energy!) of her work.
Our initial assessment of Lauren’s brand presence revealed a disconnect:
Her visual identity wasn’t resonating with her ideal audience — specifically as she tried to position three major “brands” at once (e.g., Lauren Magenta, Magenta Media and Own Your Brand).
Her website messaging was unclear and confusing — making it hard to tell how to work with her and how her three “brands” functioned together.
The structure of her website made it difficult for potential clients to navigate and engage with her offerings.
All these factors combined to create a brand presence that wasn’t landing with her audience, despite the incredible work she was doing. Lauren needed a solution — and fast.

The new brand is bolder, more modern, and high-energy, aligning with Lauren’s full-throttle personality and making an immediate impact.
The color palette has been refined for greater contrast and impact, with Magenta (#D83F7D) as the signature power color—making the brand feel dynamic and unmistakable.
Typography choices are cleaner and more structured, ensuring messaging is easy to read and visually compelling across digital and print formats.
The logo system is more cohesive, with distinct variations for primary, secondary, and submark logos, creating consistency across all brand touchpoints.
The website experience is more intuitive, with clear navigation, structured content flow, and action-oriented messaging that guides potential clients toward engagement and conversion.
The brand promise is now sharper and more direct, reinforcing Lauren’s expertise, articulating her value proposition with precision, and positioning Own Your Brand as a leader in digital storytelling for entrepreneurs.
